Shaw Psychiatry & Psychotherapy
Chace Shaw, M.D.
Psychiatry and Depth Psychotherapy for Adults in-person in Menlo Park and via Telehealth throughout California
I am Chace Shaw, M.D., a psychiatrist and psychotherapist in Menlo Park trained at Harvard, UCSF, and Stanford. I work with adults seeking help with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and important life transitions, as well as those who feel that something in their lives could be more meaningful, authentic, or fulfilling.
My approach integrates depth-oriented psychotherapy with thoughtful psychiatric care. While symptoms often bring people to treatment, our work together also focuses on developing a deeper understanding of the emotional and relational patterns shaping your experience. Over time, this process can lead not only to symptom relief, but also to greater freedom from long-standing patterns, more fulfilling relationships, and a richer and more authentic way of living.
A Thoughtful and Integrative Approach
Many people come to treatment seeking relief from anxiety, depression, or other distressing symptoms. Addressing these concerns is an important part of the work. At the same time, meaningful and lasting change often comes from developing a deeper understanding of the emotional and relational patterns that shape our experience.
Psychotherapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and develop a deeper awareness of your inner life — your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and aspirations. As this understanding grows, patients often begin to experience greater freedom from long-standing patterns and discover new ways of relating, working, and living.
As a psychiatrist, I also provide psychiatric evaluation and medication treatment when appropriate. Medication can sometimes play an important role in reducing symptoms and supporting the therapeutic process, and decisions about its use are always made thoughtfully and collaboratively.
